No Mess, No Smell and No Damage with E-Cigarette Vapor
Many car owners will not allow tobacco use in their vehicles. The interior of a car will contain the smell of cigarette smoke even if the windows are open. While driving, there is no truly effective way to keep ashes off of the upholstery. There is also the risk of damaging the interior by cigarette burns. Certainly, snuff and chewing tobacco also carry their own risks—they have a distinctive smell and can easily stain the upholstery.
None of this is an issue with an e-cigarette. The vapor carries no scent, you do not light one, and for the most part, you will not need to refill a cartridge on the road. You do not even need to roll the window down to keep from smoking everyone else out, much less have to make “pit stops.”
E-Cig Vaping Satisfies the Smoking Ritual
So far, e-cig use on road trips is on par with patches, gum, lozenges and other “non-messy” nicotine consumption. What sets the e cigarette apart is that you still emulate the smoking experience—without the act of lighting a smoke. As many smokers know, nicotine withdrawal is not the worst part of not smoking.
What all the other smoking substitutes lack is the act of holding a cigarette, inhaling and exhaling. For smokers, this activity becomes ingrained over the years. There are variations based on personality. Even with step down programs that deal with the nicotine addiction, this aspect of smoking has to be dealt with “cold turkey.” All too often, this is the cause of failed attempts at quitting smoking.
In the context of a road trip, this means that the smoker will still be edgy, fidgety and cranky with a patch. With an electric cigarette, however, they will be more able to enjoy the trip and not let their irritability bring everyone down.
