The Most Debated Aspect of E-Cigarettes
E-cigarettes are extremely popular products that are being used by both smokers as well as non-smokers. The main aspect of these innovative products is the fact they have all of the general elements of the traditional cigarette, only without all of the detrimental hazardous smoke that turns people away from tobacco products. The way e-cigs function is through a tiny motor called the atomizer that pulls vapor up out of the liquid reservoir in the cigarette butt and produces a flavored liquid based vapor for the user to inhale and exhale. However, while these products appear to be a healthy alternative for most, anti-smoking activists disagree.
E-Cigarettes Surrounded By Controversy, Regardless of Popularity
The main argument brought forth by the anti-smoking establishment is that e-cigs have not been around long enough for research to be done on the long-term effects of their use. While in fact the vapor-based second-hand products would logically be safer than tobacco-based second-hand smoke, there are still concerns among people who are around their use in public places. The debate continues with anti-smoking activists fighting to have e-cigarettes banned from use in public places; specifically schools. However, over the past three years, e-cig use has been prevalent in public places that tobacco based cigarettes are not allowed. As the debate continues, it will be interesting to see if the popularity of these products will falter in the least.
