Modifying Smokeless Cigarettes
In this world of “bigger, better, stronger, faster,” it should come as no surprise that smokeless cigarettes are being modified by their users to increase their performance. Some mods are designed to get a higher vapor yield, others to make refilling the cartridges easier. Here are just a few of the common e-cig mods.
Modifying Cartridges in Electronic Cigarettes
There are two main reasons a user might want to modify a cartridge. One is to make them easier to refill, and the other is to increase the flow of fluid to the atomizer. The latter mod is to get more vapor with each puff.
Atomizer Mods in E Cigarettes
These modifications are designed to increase how much vapor is released in each puff. Whether more flavor is the goal, more nicotine or to increase the sensation of the inhalation, the atomizer is a common modified part to get these goals.
Usually, these modifications amount to simply replacing the standard atomizer with a higher performance one. Typically, the larger size atomizers or the ones with higher resistance are preferred to increase the volume of each pull.
E-Cig Battery Mods
Battery modifications are often done for one of two purposes. One is to increase the voltage output, and the other is to use generic batteries. Increasing the voltage output can increase how much vapor is produced. This increases the size of the hit, and consequently the flavor and amount of nicotine in each hit is increased.
Some Things to Know About Modding Smokeless Cigarettes
The first thing you should know is that any modification will void your warranty. Secondly, many of these mods will require that you use a soldering gun, so you will have to work in a well-ventilated area away from children and pets. Finally, unless you know what you are doing, you should not make these mods. Make sure you completely understand the instructions you got from a modding forum—you could ruin more than your e-cig.
