'Free Trial' Electronic Cigarette Rip Offs
Every industry has them, and unfortunately, the electronic cigarette industry is no different. There are unscrupulous individuals that will try to fleece consumers out of as much money as they can. It would be nice to have these businesses shut down as frauds, but unfortunately, they live up to the fine print of their contracts, even if it flies against their advertising.
The Anatomy of Slippery Free E-Cigarette Trials
There is a good chance that you have already received a free trial e-cigarette offer in your email. The language pretty much insinuates that you get a free PV and accessories, at least until you get to the fine print. In the fine print, you will find that after your "trial period," they will automatically charge you for the whole setup. Even worse, you will be automatically enrolled in a monthly plan for replacement e cigarette cartridges.
This still may not seem too bad on the surface, but there's more. First of all, it's almost always an inferior product that you will be getting. Your trial period begins once the order is made, not when you receive the product. As a real kicker, you will usually pay almost triple the price for these supposedly free products that you would from a reputable manufacturer.
What You Can Do About These E-Cig Offers
Unfortunately, you probably will not be able to get your money back. They are still "technically" legitimate companies with legitimate offers. The contract you entered is consequently technically valid.
You can, however, break away from these companies. While doing this, make sure that all communications for future offers are removed and that you are unenrolled from the recurring billing arrangements. There is no guarantee that they will back out of these things of their own accord. Then throw away the electoronic cigarette and accessories and start over with a reputable company.
