Electric Cigarettes Prove Controversial Regardless of Popularity
Electric cigarettes have been popping up across all ends of the media spectrum. The main reason for this revolves around their generalized popularity as a result of their claim to being a healthier alternative to traditional cigarettes that are based on tobacco. Aside from being safer, they also have the exact look, feel and overall appeal of regular cigarettes, capturing the attention of smokers and non-smokers alike. However, while there are many proponents of these innovative products, there are many who are against their use in public.
The Public Use of Electric Cigarettes Gets National Attention
The public use of electric cigarettes is being condoned by anti-smoking activists who argue that not enough research has been done to adequately determine whether or not they are safe. The main area of controversy surrounding this concept is the long-term effects of the second-hand vapor output they produce. Regardless of the immense controversy that is currently still prevalent within the industry, the electric cigarette continues to grow in popularity; with sales jumping at a seemingly exponential rate on an annual basis. And while the use of the smokeless cigarette continues to be allowed in public places, little by little, cities and counties are lobbying either for or against their continued use. Only time will tell as to whether or not electric cigarettes will share the same fate as their toxic predecessors or rise above.
